Coronavirus COVID-19 ALERT

The coronavirus COVID-19 may affect upcoming hearings. The SDAB will work to keep the below information current, but this is an evolving situation. For the most up to date information, you can call the SDAB office at 403-268-5312 or info@calgarysdab.ca

IMPORTANT: Our first priority is safety. If you or a member of your household have a fever, shortness of breath, cough, difficulty breathing or other coronavirus COVID-19 symptoms, or have been told to self-isolate due to possible exposure to this illness, DO NOT attend the SDAB office.


Procedural and Jurisdictional Sessions

If your hearing has been scheduled for a preliminary determination of procedural or jurisdictional matters, this will be carried out by phone. Please contact the SDAB’s office at 403-268-5312 or info@calgarysdab.ca for instructions.”

Appeal Hearings

All appeal hearings other than procedural and jurisdictional sessions have been adjourned. No new dates have been set for the hearing to proceed. However, the SDAB will revisit the situation on or before April 30, 2020 and will provide updates regarding hearing scheduling at that time.

The SDAB is not an evidence-seeking body; it only relies on the evidence that it receives from parties to an appeal. All written and/or visual material that the SDAB receives about an appeal is included in a collection of documents called the "Board Report".

Submissions in every case -- including names, addresses, contact information and signatures -- will be publicly-available in the Board Report in its entirety. This information may also be referenced in the Board's publicly-available written decisions. Additional information about Board Reports, including the process for requesting that certain information not be included in the version of the Board Report that is published online, is available in the  SDAB Procedural Guidelines.

The Board Reports and plans posted on this page are shared only for the purpose of providing information about appeals to which they refer. Please note that the documents may be missing submissions that parties to the appeal provided after the submission deadline.

Additional materials received by the SDAB office after the submission deadline will not be in the electronic copy of the Board Report linked here, but will be available for review at the hearing.

*Submission Deadline

The SDAB must receive submissions by the deadlines indicated above in order for them to be included in the Board Report, which is made available on the Board's website prior to the hearing.

You may submit your materials to the Board Administration in person, by mail courier, or email to info@calgarysdab.ca.

If you miss the submission deadline, you must bring 12 hard copies of your submission material to the Board office prior to the date of the hearing, or to the hearing.

If 12 copies are not provided, you may be required to pay ($0.50 per page) for Board Administration to make 12 copies of your submission for you.
