Hearing Notices

We want your feedback!

The Quasi-Judicial Boards Division of the City Clerk's Office is proposing an amendment to The City of Calgary Land Use Bylaw that would align with the direction of the Municipal Government Amendment Act, so that legal notification of appeal hearings can be achieved by publishing them on a municipality's website. This change would mean that SDAB appeal hearings would no longer be advertised in a local newspaper.

Written notices to all parties that the SDAB deems to be affected by an appeal would still be required by provincial legislation; therefore, the public will still have access to appeal hearing notifications. New approaches are being used to communicate with citizens, including a self-subscribed e-newsletter with information on upcoming SDAB hearing notices, meeting agendas, recent decisions and other information/news. We believe these changes will allow broad access to information about appeals in a convenient, timely, and cost-effective manner. Your feedback on this proposed change is appreciated.
